Södertälje Municipality is now seeking an experienced communicator with specialized expertise in crisis communication for an exciting and socially significant assignment. Here, you will play a key role in the municipality's work on crisis preparedness, civil preparedness, and the management of serious incidents.
About the AssignmentIn this strategic and operational role, you will become an important part of the municipality's work on crisis preparedness and societal security. You will work closely with the security department, the communications unit, management, and operations, as well as collaborate with external actors such as voluntary organizations.
We are looking for someone who can turn plans into reality, develop structures, and simultaneously be ready to act when the situation demands it.
Your Main Responsibilities- Develop and visualize support documents such as templates, checklists, and messages for crisis communication.
- Build and develop intranet support areas for crisis and preparedness communication.
- Review, develop, and optimize external web information related to crisis preparedness and civil defense.
- Support operations and communicators in the development and further development of crisis communication plans.
- Develop scenario-based communication plans based on risk and vulnerability analyses.
- Develop concepts for training and exercises in crisis communication in close collaboration with the security department.
- An academic education in communication, media, or equivalent.
- Several years of experience in qualified communication work.
- Documented experience in crisis communication, societal disruptions, or communication during serious incidents.
- Ability to work both strategically and operationally.
- Very good communicative skills in Swedish, both oral and written.
- Good understanding of the role of communication in crisis management, collaboration, and societal-critical operations.
- Work in a crisis staff or similar function.
- Planning and implementation of crisis exercises and training initiatives.
- Knowledge within civil defense, total defense, or municipal crisis preparedness.
- Experience with intranets, web publishing, and digital communication platforms.
- Collaboration with security functions, management, and external actors.
You are a confident and structured communicator who remains calm when the unexpected happens. With high integrity, good analytical skills, and a professional approach, you create trust at all levels of the organization.
You are solution-oriented, pedagogical, and have an easy time collaborating with different stakeholders – even under time pressure.
You are an experienced communicator with operational drive and strategic height. The role is central to the municipality's work on crisis preparedness, serious incidents, and civil preparedness.
